TERMS AND CONDITIONS

As a participant of the McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership online professional development modules I have agreed to the following terms and conditions:

  • I understand that the content of the online professional development modules is the property of the McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership. In compliance with copyright law, I agree not to share, duplicate, or alter the content of any online professional development modules without the expressed written permission of the McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership at National Louis University.
  • The McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership will contact me about my online professional development modules via the information I have provided. If the contact information is no longer valid it is my responsibility to keep this information up to date. The McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership will not be responsible if I miss communications that go to the contact information provided.
  • In addition to the work I submit as part of the professional development modules, I will provide basic information about myself. Personal information may include name, contact information, job title, work history, educational background, and personal demographic information. If I work in a program that directly serves children, I may be asked to provide information about the program or school such as enrollment, capacity, funding sources, accreditation or quality rating status, and the demographic profile of the children and families. The McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership may use this information to send me news and information related to the work of the Center. Authorized personnel at the McCormick Center will have access to the information to support participants’ professional growth and to ensure the effectiveness of the online learning experience. The Center may also use this information to evaluate the program and to examine the populations served. If I choose to participate in the professional development for course credit through National Louis University, additional information will be required. The use of all information collected will comply with the policies of National Louis University and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA).

  • ACADEMIC HONESTY: I understand that all work submitted must be my own. I understand that I may, of course, receive assistance, but the thinking and writing must be mine. Plagiarism is a violation of academic standards and can result in failure of the module and (in the case of students taking the modules for college credit) expulsion from the University. I understand that it is my responsibility to familiarize myself with the Policy on Academic Honesty in the Student Guidebook (http://www.nl.edu/studentservices/studentguidebook/). Any material taken from sources must be cited. I am fully aware that any substantial copying of material (as available on the Internet or other sources) and inserted into my work, even if cited, is unacceptable, and will adversely affect my score.

  • NLU's AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) POLICY: National Louis University seeks to ensure that its programs are accessible to all persons. Students in need of special assistance or an accommodation regarding any of the course requirements as outlined in the syllabus, the course objectives, and/or course evaluation criteria, are advised to notify the McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership before beginning a module. The student and a McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership team member will discuss a resolution of the issue, which may or may not include an appropriate referral (e.g., a writing specialist; the Academic Accommodations Coordinator at the Office of Diversity, Access and Equity; or the Office of Student Affairs). Confidentiality will be maintained regarding a student's special needs.
